Join Pelican Bomb for an opening reception for “Queer Tropics,” our new exhibition at Pelican Bomb Gallery X, followed by a poolside after-party at the Drifter Hotel.

“Queer Tropics” considers the abstract idea of the tropics and how that conception has been created, reinforced, and confronted through visual culture. “Queer Tropics” features eight artists from around the country exploring how our collective imagination of the tropics informs and is informed by aesthetics, sexuality, and tourism. Artists on view are Ash Arder, Kerry Downey, Madeline Gallucci, Victoria Martinez, Joiri Minaya, Carlos Motta, Pacifico Silano, and Adrienne Elise Tarver.

RSVP and invite your friends on Facebook.

“Queer Tropics” is organized by Pelican Bomb as a satellite program of “Prospect.4: The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp.” For more information about the exhibition, click here.
