The New Orleans Public Library hosts monthly events to celebrate science-fiction works created by black writers, filmmakers, actors, or artists.

The New Orleans Public Library (NOPL) holds its monthly Black Sci-Fi Club. This month, the group watches and discusses director Joe Cornish’s Attack the Block (2011), which stars John Boyega. In the sci-fi comedy, alien creatures invade a South London apartment complex.
