“Hot Velvet, Poison Ivy,” an exhibition of new paintings by Peter Hoffman, is on view at Boyd Satellite Gallery through September 29, 2015. These new works use stock photographs of families enjoying inflatable plastic flotation devices and pools as their source materials. Hoffman is interested in the fantasy projected by these commercial images and how they break down when examined and reproduced.
