A new exhibition of works from the Haitian Cultural Legacy Collection opens at the Arts Council New Orleans’ Exchange Gallery.

Nicolas Brierre Aziz has organized an exhibition of works from the historic Haitian Cultural Legacy Collection. The collection was started by Dr. Jean Chenier Brierre in 1944 and now includes over 400 Haitian paintings and sculptures. “Kisa Lavi Ye?”—Creole for “What is Life?”—uses the collection to explore the connection between the cultures and histories of Haiti and the city of New Orleans.

More information about the exhibition is available on Facebook. And to learn more about the collection, read Lydia Y. Nichols on its genesis and recent exhibition in our Art Review.
