New solo shows by Dan Alley and Weston Lambert transform Good Children Gallery into a stockpile of gleaming metal. Dan Alley presents a series of aluminum works: seemingly otherworldly tondo sculptures, a pile of curling fragments on the gallery floor, elaborately textured meteor forms. Lambert’s Colossus—an installation made of an impressively large golden shirt—is probably the best place in New Orleans to get your picture taken right now.

Dan Alley, “Fortunes of a New Molybdomancy,” and Weston Lambert’s Colossus are on view through January 3 at Good Children Gallery (4037 St. Claude Avenue) in New Orleans. For more information, visit the gallery’s website.
