Still from Sapeurs (2014).

Ashé Cultural Arts Center invites the public to participate in a discussion about black male stereotypes, fashion, and style. The program will include screenings of two short films: Sapeurs, a documentary (produced by Guiness) that follows a group of dapper men in Brazzaville, and The Dandy Lion Project, a documentation of Shantrelle P. Lewis’ project to complicate images of black masculinities. Lewis and stylist Torrence Taylor will lead a conversation.

This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call Constance S. Thompson at 504.569.9070 or visit the Facebook event.
