A performance by Junebug Productions explores the connections of the African diaspora.
Junebug Productions presents Gomela/to return: Movement of Our Mother Tongue, a performance directed by Stephanie McKee and developed by poet Sunni Patterson; dancers Kesha McKey, Kai Knight, and Jeremy Guyton; and drummer Jawara Simon. Gomela explores the connections of the African diaspora across space—Africa, Haiti, and New Orleans—and across time through music and spoken-word poetry. On the Art Review, read Tina Orlandini’s review of the production when it was presented at Ashé Powerhouse Theater last year.
Tickets are $35. For more information, visit the Contemporary Arts Center’s website.
