Xavier University of Louisiana hosts an afternoon-long event including a panel discussion and a performance by Prospect.4 artist Satch Hoyt.

In conjunction with “Prospect.4: The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp” and “QUEEN: From the Collection of CCH Pounder,” Xavier University of Louisiana presents “Queen: A Symposium on Black Beauty.” At 4 pm, a panel discussion on notions of black beauty features writer Alexis De Veaux, art historian Mia L. Bagneris, poet Brenda Marie Osbey, community-health activist Lakeesha J. Harris, and artist Niki Lopez. At 6 pm, Prospect.4 artist Satch Hoyt presents his perfromance Hair Combing Cycle 1530.
