A new exhibition focuses on the role of women in the history of New Orleans jazz.

The New Orleans Jazz Museum at the Old U.S. Mint opens “Women of Note,” an exhibition looking back at the role of women in the history of jazz in New Orleans—from the early 20th century to today—touching on figures including Lil Hardin Armstrong, Sweet Emma Barrett, the Boswell Sisters, and Blue Lu Barker.
