A documentary follows three young boys facing lengthy prison sentences.

The Louisiana Youth Justice Coalition hosts a screening of director Ben Lear’s They Call Us Monsters (2016) at Zeitgeist Multi-Disciplinary Arts Center. The documentary looks at the extreme prison sentences often facing juvenile offenders. The screening is followed by a discussion with Louisiana State Senator Troy A. Carter, juvenile justice reform advocate Nelson Taylor, and Jill Pasquarella of the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights.
