To celebrate Carnival, the Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) is offering daily tours—entitled “Rites, Rituals, and Revelry: The History of Mardi Gras in New Orleans”—of its permanent collection in its Louisiana History Galleries. The tours will look at the lineage of festivals in the city, ranging from celebrations during the French and Spanish colonial periods to the arrival of the Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs and the formation of newer Mardi Gras krewes.

Admission is $5. Tours begin at 11 am Tuesday - Saturday and last approximately one hour. For more information, visit THNOC’s website.
