The Foundation Gallery opens a new exhibition exploring the bacchanalian costuming of Mardi Gras.
The Foundation Gallery gives itself over to the revelry of Mardi Gras, presenting an assortment of kinetic costumes, wearable artworks, and pieces that explore the costuming traditions of New Orleans through February 28.
Exhibiting artists include Randall Bailey, Jade Brandt, House of Calamity, Sarrah Danziger, Kristen Kawd Downing, Pandora Gastelum, Miss Jackie Xavi Gardens, Patrick Melon, Alligator Pear, Angeliska Polacheck, Howlpop New Orleans, Meg Turner, David Wagner, and Julian Wellisz.
The reception features musical performances at 8 pm by Bill Nace and Jake Messina Meginsky. A quarter of the proceeds from the exhibition will be donated to the Backstreet Cultural Museum. For more information, visit Facebook.
