Contribute your story of Hurricane Katrina to artist Chris Staudinger’s participatory sculpture.
Artist Chris Staudinger and his father Ed Staudinger created a wooden canoe out of cedar and reclaimed cypress. This boat will serve as a frame for layers of paper containing the public’s remembrances and reflections of Katrina and her aftermath. Viewers are invited to bring their stories to the gallery or to email them to Chris Staudinger for inclusion in Paper Boat. Staudinger will also be recording audio interviews during the opening that will be transcribed and then added to the sculpture.
