Wildseeds: The New Orleans Octavia Butler Emergent Strategy Collective presents the Black Futures Fest, a celebration of the black fantastic. It showcases artists, writers, and cultural workers of color in New Orleans whose work engages issues of Afrofuturism, science fiction, and the black radical and speculative imagination.

Open to the public, the weekend of festivities features film screenings, workshops, panel discussions, literary readings, art, and music. More than anything, the festival provides a space to celebrate black and brown artists, writers, teachers, librarians, readers, and publishers shaping the future.
