BreakOUT! hosts a theatrical performance sharing the stories of black transgender young women.
BreakOUT!'s theatrical performance with Ping Chong and Company, Say My Name, Say My Name: Stories of LGBTQ Youth from New Orleans, will be performed at the Ashé Powerhouse Theater on May 22 at 6pm and May 23 at 7pm.
Written and directed by Sara Zatz and Mieke D, Say My Name is based on interviews, writings, and conversations with the cast and members of BreakOUT! This 45-minute theatrical performance features the true stories of five black transgender young women growing up against the backdrop of the incarceration capital of the world—New Orleans—and the fierce power of self-identification.
