Norah Lovell returns to Callan Contemporary for her second solo exhibition, “Reconnaissance: Battle of New Orleans.” The exhibition pays homage to forgotten female painters with ten large-scale paintings, all created during Lovell's residency with the Joan Mitchell Center. The series uses a feminist lens to reflect on how the identity and imagery of New Orleans has evolved throughout its history.

Revisit Taylor Murrow's review of Lovell's first show at Callan Contemporary in 2014 and keep an eye out for more on her work coming soon to the Pelican Bomb Art Review.

Gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 5pm and by appointment. For more information, visit Callan Contemporary.
