This week, visit the Mckenna Museum of African American Art for the opening of “Contemporary Artists Respond to the New Orleans Baby Dolls.”

Organized by Xavier University and the George and Leah McKenna Museum of African American Art, “Contemporary Artists Respond to the New Orleans Baby Dolls" examines the meaning and contemporary relevance of the New Orleans Baby Doll tradition as a cultural form.

The exhibition aims to discover newer ways of engaging in dialogue about contemporary issues that emerge from the New Orleans Baby Dolls such as resilience, independence, and feminine identity. The show is on view through May 30.
