The Acadiana Center for the Arts is accepting submissions for their “Southern Open 2012” juried exhibition. The Southern Open is a competitive juried exhibition featuring artists from Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Florida and is accepting all types of media, including: Painting, drawing, sculpture, photography, and video.

This year’s juror is Rene Paul Barilleaux, Chief Curator and Curator of Art after 1945 at the McNay Museum in San Antonio, Texas. The juror’s pick award is $1,000 and two $500 prizes will be announced at the opening reception on May 12, 2012, from 6-8 pm. The deadline to apply is March 25.
