Last Call: Art by Committee

Detailed view of one of a dozen murals made during Bob Tannen's collaborative installation "Art By Committee" on view at Ideal Auto Repair Warehouse, New Orleans.

It’s the last weekend to catch Bob Tannen’s collaborative installation “Art by Committee” at the Ideal Auto Repair Warehouse and the Art House on the Levee. Always the innovator, Tannen responded to the invitation to participate in Prospect.2 with a vital declaration of inclusion. Since October 20, over 300 artists, students, area residents, and friends have drawn upon, painted, or otherwise embellished 200 feet of drop-cloth canvases. Completed in batches over the course of the three-month run at the Art House on the Levee in the Holy Cross neighborhood, the completed murals are on view together for the first time at the Ideal Auto Repair Warehouse. The exhibition closes on Friday, January 27, and work on additional murals continues at the Art House on the Levee until Sunday, January 29, after which Tannen plans to donate the individual murals to public facilities for continued display.
