“Lorem Ipsum” Opens on November 7 at Southern Methodist University

Pelican Bomb’s directors Cameron Shaw and Amanda Brinkman co-curate an exhibition in Dallas featuring work from New Orleans and beyond.

The Pollock Gallery at Southern Methodist University’s Meadows School of the Arts presents the exhibition “Lorem Ipsum” on view November 7 - December 12, 2015. The show highlights the structural and conceptual components of exhibitions and emphasizes experimentation across curatorial practice. Over the course of the exhibition, the show’s curators will take turns re-installing and recontextualizing contemporary artworks by 19 artists.

Pelican Bomb’s Executive Director and Founding Editor, Cameron Shaw, and Creative and Operations Director, Amanda Brinkman, will re-work the exhibition beginning on November 17 with the re-installation process open to the public. Other participating curators include Danielle Avram, Pollock Curatorial Fellow at SMU, and Benjamin Lima, Assistant Professor of Art History at the University of Texas, Arlington.

Participating artists include Jesse Morgan Barnett, Cassandra Emswiler Burd, Christopher Chambers, Dawn DeDeaux, AnnieLaurie Erickson, Ryan Goolsby, Dana Haugaard, Travis LaMothe, Sophie T. Lvoff, Michael Mazurek, Margaret Meehan, Shelby David Meier, Adrian Pijoan, Ryder Richards, Lucia Simek, Kevin Todora, Penelope Umbrico, Andrew Douglas Underwood, and Carl Joe Williams.
