The New Orleans Film Society is hosting its 28th annual New Orleans Film Festival October 11–19, presenting feature-length, documentary, and short films. Pelican Bomb is a Community Partner for the festival, and we’re giving away tickets to select screenings of three films. Watch the trailers below, and click here to enter to win two tickets to one of the following films. The contest closes October 8, 11:59 pm, and winners are announced Monday, October 9.



Director Brad Abrahams’ Love and Saucers (2017): This documentary tells the story of 73-year-old artist David Huggins, whose paintings recount his sexual experiences with an extraterrestrial woman. Love and Saucers asks us all to question how we define reality. (Saturday, October 14, 8:45 pm and Tuesday, October 17, 1:45 pm)


Directors Rachel Wolther and Alex H. Fischer’s Snowy Bing Bongs Across the North Star Combat Zone (2017): This 40-minute absurdist film is an adaptation of skits by the New York-based Cocoon Central Dance Team. Snowy Bing Bongs combines dance, comedy, and performance art all in one. (Saturday, October 14, 9:30 pm)


Director Maria Govan’s Play the Devil (2016): Play the Devil follows the relationship between Gregory, a working-class teenager, and an older businessman during Carnival in Trinidad. Maria Goven’s film explores desire, difference, and identity. (Wednesday, October 18, 6:30 pm)
