A panel discussion examines the media’s effects on art and artists.
The Press Club of New Orleans, Prospect New Orleans, and the Contemporary Arts Center host a discussion about how journalism and the media inform contemporary art art and how artistic practices have changed in relation to journalism. Panelists include D. Eric Bookhardt, art critic for the Gambit; Gia Hamilton, director of the Joan Mitchell Center; artist Tameka Norris; Trevor Schoonmaker, artistic director of “Prospect.4: The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp”; and Charlie Tatum, Pelican Bomb’s Editorial and Communications Manager.
