The Newcomb Art Museum of Tulane University opens a new exhibition of works by Mickalene Thomas.

The Newcomb Art Museum of Tulane University opens “Waiting on a Prime-Time Star,” an exhibition of works by Mickalene Thomas, which includes a new site-specific installation. Thomas is known for her lush portraits celebrating black female beauty.

On January 18, Thomas gives a talk at the Freeman Auditorium in the Woldenberg Art Center, followed by a reception in the galleries. Both events are free and open to the public.
