The Historic New Orleans Collection presents a lecture about William Shakespeare’s influence on 19th-century New Orleans.

In conjunction with its current exhibition, the Historic New Orleans Collection hosts a talk by scholar Oliver Hennessey, who discusses the influence William Shakespeare had on the art and culture of New Orleans in the 19th century.

The exhibition “‘Merry as the Day is Long’: Shakespeare’s Hand in New Orleans” is open before the lecture, which begins at 6 pm. This event is free and open to the public; reservations can be made by calling 504.523.4662 or emailing wrc@hnoc.org.
