The Historic New Orleans Collection (THNOC) presents a lecture by historian John Magill about Christmas shopping on Canal Street, during the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, when the thoroughfare was the center of commerce in New Orleans. This talk is in conjunction with THNOC’s current exhibition, “Goods of Every Description: Shopping in New Orleans: 1825-1925.”
