Press Street’s Spillways Residency will support a project by a non-local artist or writer in New Orleans next year.
Press Street announces Spillways, an initiative to promote community-oriented projects and to facilitate the dialogue between national and international artists and New Orleanians. Press Street will fund and support the research and execution of one project by an artist or writer in the coming year. Projects must include a significant educational outreach component, and the chosen artist or writer should have an interest in the relationship between art and the many local communities in New Orleans. For more information and to apply for the Spillways Residency, please visit Press Street’s website. Applications are due on September 30.
Last year, Press Street piloted Spillways through its support of Tavares Strachan’s You Belong Here, a large-scale artwork created for “Prospect.3: Notes for Now.”
