South Arts and the New Orleans Film Society present three short films at the Contemporary Arts Center.
As part of the Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers, South Arts and the New Orleans Film Society will screen several short films by Los Angeles-based director Ian Samuels. Samuels’ films capture an array of contemporary and fantastical characters: a heartbroken alien struggling to adapt to life in L.A., a widowed fisherman who develops a relationship with a lobster, and a young man struggling with his May-December relationship.
Samuels has previously worked for the Jim Hensen Company and Sesame Street, and his films have been screened at festivals including Sundance, SXSW, Telluride, and Slamdance.
Tickets for the screening are $8. Admission is free for members of the Contemporary Arts Center and the New Orleans Film Society. Tickets and more information on the films are available on the Contemporary Arts Center’s website.
