Performance artist Kalup Linzy speaks with A Scribe Called Quess? at Xavier University.
Prospect New Orleans presents a community discussion led by performance artist Kalup Linzy and local activist, poet, and educator A Scribe Called Quess?. In his performances and video works, Linzy addresses issues of race, class, and gender through his embodiment of a cast of characters seemingly taken from soap operas, music videos, and reality television.
This discussion follows Art Lesson U Perform, a two-day workshop led by Linzy with a group of students from Xavier University, and a performance at PARSE.
This program launches Prospect New Orleans’ Bridge Years Community Engagement Programs, a series of events leading up to the opening of Prospect.4 in 2017.
This event is free and open to the public and will take place in the auditorium of Xavier University’s Administration Building. More information is available on the Prospect New Orleans website.
