The New Orleans Film Society screens John Waters’ camp classic.
The New Orleans Film Society (NOFS) and the Contemporary Arts Center (CAC) screen director John Waters’ “trash art” classic Desperate Living (1977). After murdering her husband with the help of her maid, Peggy Gravel (played by Mink Stole) runs away and ends up in the absurdist shantytown of Mortville, ruled by an authoritarian queen.
Viewers will have the opportunity to meet Stole, who stars in the CAC’s upcoming presentation of Tennessee Williams’ The Mutilated. Tickets are $8 and admission is free to members of the CAC and NOFS. More information is available on the CAC’s website.
