On Saturday, July 19, 9 am - 1:30 pm, Le Musée de f.p.c. will host a conference in honor of the 150th Anniversary of the original _New Orleans Tribune, _this country's first black daily paper.

Saturday's event will take place at Dillard University, featuring a lecture by Marc Roudané; a panel discussion titled "The Genesis of the Black Press" (with presentations by Barbara Trevigne, Dr. Laura Rouzan, and Jari Honora); and "Contemporary Black Owned Media, Their Mission and Issues They Face," an additional discussion featuring James Borders, founding editor of the modern New Orleans Tribune; Anitra Brown, editor of the New Orleans Tribune; Renette Dejoie Hall, publisher of Louisiana Weekly; and Terry Jones, publisher of Data News Weekly.

The conference is free and open to the public.
