Art historian Robin Greely will deliver a lecture on the work of sculptor Abraham Cruzvillegas, one of the most important contemporary Mexican artists, on Wednesday, April 2, at 6:30 pm at Tulane University.
The discussion, "Autoconstrucción's Dialectical Objects: Sculptural Materialism in the work of Abraham Cruzvillegas," will explore the position of Cruzvillegas' work--and sculpture at large--as it relates to developing nations (Mexico, in particular) versus "developed countries and the market-driven international art circuit." For more information, contact Allison Caplan at firstname.lastname@example.org
The talk is free and open to the public.
