Longue Vue House and Gardens presents “The River Between Us,” an exhibition created in collaboration with Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis. While there are many cities that have grown along the Mississippi River, St. Louis and New Orleans are linked through trade, as well as social and cultural exchange dating from the pre-historic Mississippian cultures to today. The exhibition features contemporary commissions alongside historic works culled from regional cultural institutions. The opening reception is Thursday, September 26, 5-7 pm, and an artist walk through will begin at 5:45 pm. The “River Between Us” will remain on view until December 1.
