José Torres-Tama will give an artist talk on his exhibition "Somos Humanos/We Are Human: Latino Immigrants & the Reconstruction," at Barrister’s Gallery (2331 St. Claude Ave), Tuesday, July 30 at 7pm. A closing reception, presented by the Consulate of Ecuador in New Orleans and ArteFuturo Productions, in collaboration with Barrister's Gallery, will take place from 6-9 pm. The Congress of Day Laborers, an activist organization of immigrant workers and the subject of Torres-Tama’s photographs and drawings, will also be present at the closing.
