The UNO St. Claude Gallery and Ashé Cultural Center will host the exhibition “True Colors,” curated by UNO Master of Fine Arts alumni Holis Hannan and Maxx Sizeler. The exhibition will feature works by both emerging and established LGBTQ artists as well works by other artists that openly assert LGBTQ subjects in their art.
The opening reception is Friday, June 21, 6-9 pm, at the UNO St. Claude Gallery (2429 St. Claude Ave), in conjunction with New Orleans Pride Festival. The exhibition will be open June 22-23 and June 29-30 from 12-5 p.m.
Work from “True Colors” will also be exhibited from June 17-28 at Ashé Cultural Arts Center (1712 Oretha Castle Haley Blvd). Ashé will also host a screening of the ITVS film Love Free or Die on June 21, at 6 pm, in conjunction with the exhibition.
