Presented by VESTIGES/Enactments 2013, "Touch in Real Time" is a multi-part series of events across the country planned in conjunction with Kate Lydon, curator of the Society of Contemporary Craft in Pittsburgh. The project is based on shaking hands with as many people as possible, while artist Holly Hanessian holds a wet piece of clay, leaving an imprint of each participants palm. The project will culminate in an installation during the fall of 2013 at the Society for Contemporary Art.
Artist Holly Hanessian will be in New Orleans on Friday, February 1 from 1-4 pm at 511 Royal Street shaking hands and collecting imprints.
Admission is free and open to the public.
