On May 5, 2011, during the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundation’s Sync-Up Conference, NOFA will host its inaugural event featuring two exciting interactive media projects:
A music/cinema/digital media collaboration between Arcade Fire, Chris Milk, and the Google Chrome HTML 5 development team, The Wilderness Downtown is a breakthrough music video calling upon the latest in web browser technology. By mixing filmed and computer generated images with Google Earth’s dynamic satellite views of the user’s home, a uniquely personalized viewing experience is created. Thomas Gayno, Marketing Manager of Creative Labs at Google, will be in attendance to discuss the project and its implications on the future of entertainment and engagement with audiences.
Cinema In Concert is a multi-dimensional media event that combines live and recorded performances by Shannon Powell, Jason Marsalis, Lucien Barbarin, and Chuck Perkins with innovative media displays by Tutti Dynamics. An interactive media company with headquarters in New Orleans, Tutti Dynamics produces music content for use in mobile applications, educational software, videos, and music albums. The program will incorporate discussion with the featured musicians; Tutti Founder Darren Hoffman and New Orleans Film Alliance Founder Bryan Bailey talk about how changes in technology impact the way we consume and learn.
